Deutsche Börse introduces the information system Energy Facts - The comprehensive package of fundamental data for European energy trading was developed in close cooperation with EuroWind. It contains, amongst other data, the widely-used accredited wind energy forecasts by EuroWind. |
 |
Deutsche Börse Market Data & Analytics is expanding its data services to include a new offering, the real-time information product Energy Facts
Energy Facts provides comprehensive fundamental data for European energy trading. With Energy Facts, price-relevant information such as power plant utilization and capacity, wind energy data, key meteorological indicators and additional complex energy reports are available for the first time in a consolidated structured form. The data, which is prepared in a standardized format and subjected to quality control is continuously updated and delivered in real time. Moreover, Energy Facts users receive urgent market announcements relevant to trading as soon as they are published.
"Deutsche Börse is increasing energy market transparency with the Energy Facts fundamental data product. Electricity traders, analysts, risk and portfolio managers receive important data upon which to base their decisions," said Holger Wohlenberg, Managing Director of Market Data & Analytics at Deutsche Börse.
The Energy Facts data service will initially cover Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. In the course of the year, it will also be expanded to include Italy, Spain, Austria and Switzerland.
The Energy Facts data product is fed from a variety of sources: from publicly available data, proprietary data from information providers and modeled data from Deutsche Börse.
The content may be acquired via a special web terminal or an XML web data service. All reports are displayed on the web terminal as figures and tables. They can easily be exported into Excel and thus further processed in other applications. In the course of this year Deutsche Börse will supply Energy Facts via its CEF® data feed to established data providers for dissemination.

EuroWind is spectacularly represented at the energy trade fair
E-world 2006, the meeting of the top companies of the energy industry. |
The high quality of the wind power forecasts throughout Germany and Europe and the highly increasing demand are confirming that EuroWind is the leading service company of the industry in Europe.
Besides the wind power forecasts throughout Germany
and Europe, also the prognosis for the single wind farms
are in the focus of the interest. Wind power forecasts
with high timely resolutions make our customers benefit
demonstrably from the favorable power
quota at the European power stock market and
to minimize decisively the regular energy consumption.
Also the internal wind power index - EuroWindindex found
great interest. Beside the evaluation of the monthly
energy returns, it also serves to project the development
of the wind power production within the following years.
Further special demands had been filed concerning the
topic of high-grade individual weather consulting service
and weather forecast. The confidence of the biggest Japanese F1 team for the individual forecasts
by EuroWind are impressively proving the high quality of our
forecasts.

EuroWind finishes its first season at the
biggest Japanese motorsport team with an allround positive response
- not only from their own racing team:
Ralf Schumacher: "It was a difficult lap for all of us, I think. It was very slippery out there, you it saw with Jarno. He had a bit of bad luck and a lot of the other drivers did as well. He was just on the limit of what we could do and we were lucky with the weather. Especially, it was clear, you saw that with Giancarlo already that he could have gone faster but luckily the rain came in. It was actually down to our predictions, that was perfect, so thanks to the weather guy!" (Source: Post qualifying FIA Press Conference Formula One - Japan 2005)
Mike Gascoyne (Technical manager Panasonic TOYOTA Racing): "Of course we were lucky with the weather up to a certain extent, but our weather report forecasted a shower at 13:42 and it just happened like that." (Source: www.f1total.com)
Helmut Marko (Representative for motor sports by Red Bull): "We have spied at the Japanese team. Toyota has got one of the best weather forecasts - and they now clearly say, that the race tomorrow will be dry." (Source: www.f1total.com)
Saturday Web Report
Panasonic TOYOTA Racing: "After Trulli's pole position at the ill-fated US Grand Prix, this is the second time that the team has topped the qualifying times this year. The weather forecasting of yesterday proved to be perfectly accurate and the drivers faced a greasy track after morning rain at Suzuka, with those going last in the session affected by heavy rain." (Source: Saturday Web Report - F1 Japan 2005, TMG)
Keizo Takahashi (Director of Tech. Coordination, Panasonic TOYOTA Racing): "Our team weather report called for rain to fall around 2:30 p.m. during the afternoon free practice, so we adjusted our program with the weather in mind. The track surface had yet to build up during the morning session, we couldn't complete our comparison of the two types of tires we brought with us. We only figured on 30 minutes of effective time for the afternoon session, so we made car setup our main focus of the morning, leaving 30 minutes for tire comparisons in the afternoon. Rain fell just as predicted, so we actually had only one-and-one-half hours of effective session time, but we were still able to collect all the data we needed for tire selections." At the largest wind trade fair in the world HusumWind 2005 the company EuroWind from Cologne had been represented with a considerably increased service offer. |
The Offshore-revenue
certificates and the methodology to calculate the
site-related wind and production indices had been in
the focus of the interest. Besides the evaluation of
the monthly energy revenues of wind energy plants which
are already operated the Windindex
serves for climatological referencing of timely limited
wind measuring at projects in foreign countries.
There where many other requests about
the daily forecasts
of the wind power generation of wind farm sites
in Germany and abroad. Our individual
weather forecasts to improve the planning and decision
basis, for example for the logistic optimization in
the construction phase of offshore wind farms round
up the range of demands.

systems of prognosis for wind power has shown: The performance
