Offshore wind index for the climatological assessments of the energy yield of offshore wind farms
In order to offer planners and operators
of offshore wind farms a climatological assessment
of the monthly energy yield, EuroWind provides
a region-related indexing of the monthly wind conditions
for the area of the North Sea and Baltic Sea. With the OffshoreIndex the monthly wind power production related to the long-term average power generation can be assessed. The OffshoreIndex
is based on a multitude of long-term wind measurements
in the area of the Northern- and Baltic Sea and will be calculated
with a horizontal resolution of about 10 kilometers.
The procedure mainly corresponds to the EuroWindindex.

The monthly OffshoreIndex can be provided from now on, delivered to you (also retroactively) by
e-mail. Thereby, besides the map »North Sea« or »Baltic Sea« you will also get the wind index for individual offshore wind farms by specifying geographic coordinates.
